Cheer Up erscheint als CD und LP auf K&F Records.Cheer Up ist eine tiefgründige und autobiografische Sammlung von Songs, die das Leben und die Erfahrungen des Singer-Songwriters aus Cork widerspiegeln. Seit der Auflösung seiner Band The Rats im Jahr 2016 widmet sich Blek ausschließlich dem kunstvollen, introspektiven Folk und hat seither eine bemerkenswerte Produktivität an den Tag gelegt. Blek beschreibt das Werk als einen bedeutenden Schritt in seiner Karriere, der nicht nur sein Wachstum als Mensch, sondern auch seine Reflexion über die Vergangenheit zum Ausdruck bringt. Unterstützt wird Blek auf dem Album von der niederländischen Harmoniegruppe Woolf und dem Dresdner Duo Broken Strings. Diese Kollaborationen verleihen den Songs eine neue Tiefe und erweitern den Klang um reichhaltige, harmonische Elemente. Die Aufnahme fand bei Wavefield Recordings in Clonakilty, Co. Cork, statt, wo Blek zusammen mit seinem langjährigen Mitarbeiter Brian Casey als Co-Produzent tätig war. Just what I needed. The size is perfect as I didn’t want anything too large to place my watches and other accessories inside near the corner of my desk. I’m unsure about other reviewers, but mine came safely and the leather walls are decently thick, so it’s not too flimsy when buttoned together which holds very securely. There are hole spaces at the bottom corners once assembled, so if you have super small items such as beads or really small jewelry, they could potentially fall out, but most of my items are large enough that won’t be of concern. If you have a wire charger near by, the holes could be used to charge your smartphone inside, which has its own practical usage. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it if you’re on a lookout for a sleek but compact organizer holder, and I personally will consider getting another one in the future for myself for other household belongings.
