Allgemeine ernährungswissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse
Eine bedarfsgerecht aufeinander abgestimmte Kombination aus Magnesium und Vitamin B12 bewirkt bei nervösen, ängstlichen und unkonzentrierten Pferden eine periphere und zentrale Entspannung. Durch die Stabilisierung des Nervensystems erhöht sich die Leistungsbereitschaft und Lernfähigkeit der Pferde; Stresssituationen wie Transport, Turnier, Futterneid etc. können leichter bewältigt werden.

Magnesium ist ein wichtiger Mineralstoff, der als Aktivator vieler Enzyme im Energiestoffwechsel der Nerven- und Muskelzellen bekannt ist. Bei einer Unterversorgung mit Magnesium verlieren Herz- und Skelettmuskulatur ihre Leistungsfähigkeit. Dies führt zu Muskelschwäche, Muskelzittern und schließlich zu Krampfanfällen. Im Bereich der Nerven und des Gehirns führt ein Magnesiummangel zu Konzentrationsschwierigkeiten und Nervosität, da die einwandfreie Reizübertragung im Nervensystem nicht mehr gewährleistet ist. Besonders erwähnenswert ist die Schutzfunktion des Magnesiums vor den negativen Auswirkungen während Stresssituationen: Indem es die Zellmembranen stabilisiert, wird eine Überreizung der Nervenzellen verhindert; im Blut wirkt es dem Stresshormon Adrenalin entgegen.
