Focusing especially on Christianity but including Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Chinese spiritualities, Armstrong examines the diminished impulse toward religion in our own time, when a significant number of people either want nothing to do with God or question the efficacy of faith. Why has God become unbelievable? Why is it that atheists and theists alike now think and speak about God in a way that veers so profoundly from the thinking of our ancestors? Answering these questions with the same depth of knowledge and profound insight that have marked all her acclaimed books, Armstrong makes clear how the changing face of the world has necessarily changed the importance of religion at both the societal and the individual level. Yet she cautions us that religion was never supposed to provide answers that lie within the competence of human reason; that, she says, is the role of logos. The task of religion is "to help us live creatively, peacefully, and even joyously with realities for which there are no easy explanations." Disappointing
Color: Bright White Accent Light
Terrible. I bought a lot of these, thinking they would be better quality, since they cost more than most of the other solar lights on Amazon. But they rarely all work -even in summer after some of the sunniest days. (Yes they are “on”). My husband bought some really cheap plastic ones, made by another brand, which average out about 2 dollars a piece and those actually work great.

Bought 4 - burned out in 6 wks
I paid full price and purchased four of these; within six weeks one was inoperable and won't turn on at all. Dead. One other is barely hanging on and two are still doing okay. Given the price, I'd expect far more.

Can’t recommend with 2/6 failing in 2
Purchased 6 lights, two failed within 8 weeks photo shows dead la get on left vs functional one on right. Sadly, I have received no response or support from the company. Who knows how long the other 4 lights will last.

pricey but worth it
I just happened to check reviews on this and saw a couple negatives. I don't doubt that they have had some issue with the solar panels but that's not been my experience. I've purchased 6 over the span of a year and a half from various merchants including amazon. Gama Sonic is pricey in general, yet I've found I can rely on the quality of the brand. I have other models as well. This particular is one of my favorites because of the versatility in placement, whether staked in the ground or in a pipe or fence for a higher mount. The hook is solid as is the stake itself. The brightness is great as long as you understand what you're getting in lumens and it meets the specs for your purpose. My first 2 have now passed the 2 year mark and going strong. Of course, there's not much sun during the Jersey winter so they don't have the juice to last long but for 8-9 months of the year they burn all night. I anticipate having to replace the battery next season at some point. 3 year life is fine for me. Bulb is supposed to last 10 years. Not sure I'll be around to update. I also appreciate that if you have slim enough hands, you can access the on off switch from underneath for those times you don't want it or wish to change the brightness. The solar panel design is also very functional with a somewhat stylish look. Personal taste on that one I guess but it does soak up the rays. Like I said, pleased enough to go back twice more.
