The Glensound BEATRICE R16 is a versatile and fully featured 16 channel rackmount intercom with crystal clear audio designed for broadcast, theatre and professional audio applications. It is part of our Beatrice intercom system that utilises the reliable and proven Dante network audio transmission protocol to allow real time distribution of uncompressed audio across standard networks. It is also AES67 compliant. As such the BEATRICE R16 is fully compatible with other manufacturers’ equipment using the Dante and/ or AES67 protocols.
This 1RU rackmount intercom was designed to be very easy to use for the operator and simple to set up for the technician. It includes all the basic functionality required for small intercom systems and none of the overly complex installation requirements normally associated with large systems.
• 16 Channels Of Intercom
One single user connected to the unit can listen to and communicate with 16 separate locations on the network. Depending upon how the Dante network has been routed, the incoming audio circuits and outgoing circuits can be different locations.
• Configurable Speak Switches
Each channel's speak switch can be user defined to operate to your preference. The options are: Momentary, Latching or Intelligent Lever Key.
• Dante® Routing & Partyline
Audio routing to/ from other devices is setup using Dante controller which allows for point to multipoint routing on outgoing circuits (but only 1 single incoming circuit for each of the 16 channels). Therefore we’ve included an inbuilt fixed ratio 11 input 11 output mixer matrix with inputs and outputs connected directly to the Dante / AES67 network which allows for setting up partyline and group circuits.
• Onboard Mic & External Mic Input
A good quality, clear sounding microphone amplifier, designed for communication purposes, is fitted which also has the benefit of a compressor/ limiter circuit to help keep levels and intelligibility consistent even when the operator gets overly excited. This microphone amp has two microphone sources, either the inbuilt front panel mounted electret capsule which provides good voice intelligibility from normal working distances, or a balanced XLR input for connecting external gooseneck microphones. Twelve Volt Phantom power is also available and can be turned on/ off as required via an internal link.
• High Output Intelligible Loudspeaker
What’s the point of an intercom unit if the onboard speaker is so cheap that you can’t understand what is being said to you? We tried hundreds of different drive units before settling on the one used in the Beatrice R16. We chose it because it had a much cleaner sound and better frequency response for vocals than any other speaker on the market that would fit in a 1RU subrack.
• Mains or PoE Powered
An inbuilt wide range switch mode mains power supply is fitted for powering the Beatrice R16. It is terminated with a standard IEC plug, making it easy to plug in wherever you are in the World.
The unit can also be powered via the Ethernet cable by standard PoE (Power over Ethernet) on either of the copper Ethernet ports. The PoE power can be supplied by an external PoE switch or a midspan power injector.
• Redundant Twin Copper & Twin Fibre Ethernet Interface
When ultra reliable communications is needed for the utmost important jobs, glitch free redundant network circuits can be set up using the primary and secondary Dante network ports.
There are 2 copper Ethernet ports on RJ45s and also 2 fibre Ethernet ports presented as SFP slots (SFP modules not included). Redundant networks can be set up across any of these ports. These ports can also be set up as a network switch.
• GPIO
A solid state relay output is provided and is triggered when any speak key is on (useful for dimming external loudspeakers or red light controls).
In total there are 12 loop closure inputs. 10 of these control the first 8 talk keys and talk to group and talk to all.
The other 2 loop closure inputs provide internal & external LS cuts.
• IFB/ AUX Sources
Four different IFB/ Aux audio sources are received from the Dante network. Each of the four sources is associated with four outgoing talkback channels. If audio is routed to the(se) IFB/ Aux sources in the network then they are mixed in with their associated outgoing talkback channel circuit.
If a talkback key is on then the associated IFB/ Aux source is ducked by a user definable amount. If the talkback is not on then the IFB/ Aux source is routed to the channels' output with unity gain.
IFB/ Aux sources are very useful for distributing programme audio around an intercom setup whilst the ducking facility allows talkback to be heard over it.
• Microphone Level Meter
An eight LED front panel multipurpose indicator is used to indicate the outgoing microphone level.
• Channel Input and Output Gain Controls
For maximum flexibility, gain can be applied to incoming audio signals and outgoing signals separately. A row of LEDs indicate the current gain setting when a channels input or output is being adjusted.
• Monitor
All incoming talkback channels are mixed together to the headphones/ loudspeakers.
• Presence Indication
Front panel LEDs located next to the talk switches are used to indicate the presence of incoming audio on that channel. When audio is detected on the channel the LED is illuminated. The LED then stays on for a short period after the incoming audio stops to help the operator identify who has been talking to them.
• 4-Wire Connectivity
Two traditional analogue 4-wire circuits can be connected to two of the R16's intercom channels by utilising the versatile analogue inputs and outputs.
• Speak To All and Speak To Group
Two useful front panel controls are fitted. When pressed, the ‘Speak To All’ button will enable the operator to talk to all the outputs simultaneously and the ‘Speak To Group’ button allows the operator to talk to an easily assignable set of outputs.
• Speaker Output
As well as the front panel internal loudspeaker a balanced analogue output is provided for connecting to an external powered loudspeaker.
• Local Input and Output Circuits
For increased versatility there are 2 local balanced analogue audio inputs and 2 local balanced analogue outputs.
The inputs are routed directly to two output channels on the Dante/ AES67 network.
The outputs are fed directly from two input channels from the Dante/ AES67 network.
• Mixer Matrix For Partyline
For setting up simple groups and partyline circuits that could not be achieved via Dante controller or your AES67 router, an inbuilt fixed ratio mixer is supplied. It has 11 audio inputs direct from the network and 11 mix outputs to the network.

“My heart bows to you and you only, Huntress.”
Format: Kindle
3.5 🌟
This book popped up in my KU recommended reading suggestions and the synopsis sounded like what I was in the mood for. I'm so glad I took a chance on it. I went into this knowing absolutely nothing about it and ended up really liking it. I love when this happens.
The main characters are likeable and I easily found myself rooting for them. There is a mystery element to each of their backstories that I enjoyed watching unfold and can't wait to get more of. Wolf, in particular, has me fixated. Love him.
I found this to be an entertaining, addictive read with a plot that moves along at a good pace. It reads so easily I found myself very reluctant to put it down. Lots of twists and turns and the angst is there. A good set up for the next book to come, for sure.
My issues with this book....the dialogue feels a bit juvenile at times and there is a repetitive over use of a particular word phrasing that I found myself giving the ole eye-roll to. There are, without a doubt, some pretty cliche moments that gave me a bit of the cringe. I think this could've certainly 100% benefited from more depth regarding the world building. Perhaps the world building was sacrificed to keep the pacing quick? Just a guess. Also, the lack of consistency of character for the FMC was really evident and so she feels quite illogical at times.
Overall, this was a fun and enjoyable read that hit the spot well enough for me. That ending certainly has me impatiently pining for book 2!

Interesting take on the genre
Format: Kindle
True rating: 3.25 ⭐️
I enjoyed the fresh take on the genre. The best way I could describe the setting and world is an apocalyptic dystopian version of Farie where vampires, fae, and angles struggle to survive in what is left of the world. It was definitely interesting throwing the academy/hunger games aspect into this world as well.
Even though I guessed the final reveal early on in the book, I kept hoping I was wrong, and it would take a surprising turn. While the "plot twists" were a bit predictable to me, I still enjoyed the ride this book took me on.
Another downfall for me was the plot holes in the world building... I.E. if society has fallen and the world is in the aftermath of war, how are there trains running around the world? Just to take young adults to the trials to get into the golden city? How is the train maintained, the tracks clear, etc?
However, I did enjoy the FMC & MMC and thought they were fleshed out nicely. I also enjoyed the side characters but wish some were developed more like Ashalin (sp?). I do find myself rooting for the MCs to succeed and find happiness together, which is obviously an important aspect for romantasy.
Overall, was this an earth-shattering, mind-bending, terrific piece of literature? No. But was it the worst thing I've read this year? Also, no. This book has, to me, the bones of a great read & just needs a bit more to push it from an alright book to a great book.
Overall ratings:
Plot- 3.5⭐️
World building 3⭐️
Spice 2.5 🌶🌶
Main characters 4 ⭐️
Supporting characters 3.5⭐️

great book
Format: Kindle
I am really excited to meet the author at the book retreat this month. I really enjoyed this world that she built and most of the female main character Huntress is so awesome. She goes through a lot in this book and the ending; wow! I wouldn't have even guessed. I highly recommend everyone to read this book.
I have been so lucky this year that almost all the books I have read have been, so far, 5 out 5 stars.

Fallen for the Fallen Angel – A Guilty Pleasure Worth Every Page
Format: Kindle
There’s something deeply irresistible about a dark academia or trial-based setting, a brooding and arrogant fallen angel, and a fierce heroine with enough sass to go toe-to-toe with him. Wings So Wicked is exactly that kind of book—and I devoured it in just a couple of days.
To be fair, the plot isn’t groundbreaking. If you’re looking for something fresh and innovative in terms of storyline, this might not be it. But if your reader heart beats faster at the mere mention of enemies-to-lovers, jealousy-fueled banter, magical trials, betrayals, and forbidden tension—you’ll feel right at home. It’s like catnip for those of us with this particular weakness.
The chemistry between the leads could have used a slightly slower burn to make the tension sizzle longer, but I still found myself completely invested in their dynamic. There are moments and phrases that feel a bit cheesy or underdeveloped, but honestly? I didn’t care. The vibes were exactly what I wanted.
This book isn’t trying to reinvent the genre—it’s here to give readers like me what we crave: high-stakes magical drama, angsty romance, and the thrill of watching a badass girl and her brooding counterpart clash and spark. If that sounds like your kind of story, Wings So Wicked will hit the mark.
Here’s hoping Book 2 turns up the heat and keeps the magic alive.

my new favorite book
Format: Kindle
Ok so I never write reviews but this book was so good I felt the need to write this. Firstly your introduced to Huntyr you see her closed off hard core badass than towards the end you see the most subtle change and growth it’s amazing and the enemies to friends to lovers was just perfect, AND THE TWIST AT THE END GOT ME GOOD! You see one spicy scene the whole book but it doesn’t even MATTER BECAUSE THE BOOK WAS THAT GOOD. I’ve read 85 books in 2023-2024 so far and I’m pround to say this is my all time favorite. I’m so excited to read more of Emily Blackwoods books, this was my first time reading one of hers and I’m glad I did because HOLY!! Well done Emily well done
