This book also includes the small collection of Ferry Records, dating 1784 to 1885. Although not a lot of records, this small collection provides some insight to the need of ferry boat operations to enhance transportation needs of Craven County. Each photographed document includes a transcript of the key information, allowing for indexing (last name, first) for names, rivers, towns etc., and proper cataloging. Some period maps are included to assist the reader in locating the mills, rivers, and ferry being discussed.
