The Greatest Story Never ToldFor Christians, the Bible is the truth. It is infallible in its depiction of creation and the beginning of life. It is honest in relating the history of ancient people, especially in the Middle East. It accurately predicts the future of mankind, and it is perfect in the teaching of moral values still considered relevant today. For Christians, the Bible is the truth.

It is infallible in its depiction of creation and the beginning of life. It is honest in relating the history of ancient people, especially in the Middle East. It accurately predicts the future of mankind, and it is perfect in the teaching of moral values still considered relevant today. Most importantly, it is the ultimate guide in strengthening the belief and a persons relationship with God. However, it is also a known fact that the Scriptures has been subjected to interpretations that may have been far from the truth. Moreover, scholars have found some inconsistencies in data from one writer to another of certain events, which most faithful adherents blindly dismiss. And there may be some particular story that many believe truly happened but may just be symbolical instead of literal. Could it just be myths?

Gary Hood comes up with controversial findings that may make someone question their long-held belief in what has been taught in the pulpits of churches. Armed with his belief in his reasoning abilitycoupled with thirty years of serious Bible study and twenty years of ancient Pagan texthe concludes that with the ancient peoples belief of the sun god and their use of astronomy and astrology in guiding their actions and decisions affecting their lives, which is very much present in their myths and beliefs, ancient Jewish and Christian religions may also be founded on the same phenomena of astronomy and astrology.

About the Author

Gary Hood came from an evangelical Christian background in the South. He never questioned the Bible while growing up and had began a serious study of the Scriptures that spanned forty years. After a painful divorce that destroyed his life, this former pastor learned about Plato and found a new meaning and purpose in his life. With his ability to reason, he engaged religion and philosophy in search for the truth that included over twenty years of study in ancient Pagan text.

Just linear
Format: Paperback
I appreciate that it helps to organize the chaos of information, but I just used the template verbatim with my manager and it did not go very well. He said this linear approach does not work anymore with high-level corporate audiences. They want to cut right to the chase and start to dig into the deep details. This layout with simple images, even if you just pull away the map and anchor slides, makes the storytelling too much like a story, not giving enough credit to the speed at which certain audiences can and do process data on a slide. It was an interesting exercise and I still think this linear layout works in some cases. Just not if you are trying to communicate business case or other C-suite type of information.

Student Review
This book is an excellent introduction to the basic principles of insurance. We used this text as a supplement in our Intro to Act. Sci. class. It is very readable, easy to understand. Minimal mathematics required, some basic calculus concepts used, but only briefly. Don't let it's small size fool ya, it has plenty of information in there.

A #MustRead for cybersecurity practitioners
Format: Kindle
Rick Howard's latest book is the ultimate reference for cybersecurity practitioners, making it an essential read for anyone in the field. With his straightforward and refreshingly irreverent writing style, coupled with his profound technical knowledge, Rick has created a narrative that is easy to understand and grasp. He delves into the foundational aspect of cybersecurity, which he refers to as the cybersecurity first principle, which he then it to specific high-impact strategies. The book has eight well-written chapters providing a comprehensive overview of those strategies. Importantly, Rick then offers an up-to-date and thorough exploration of the complementary capabilities (tactical-level tools) that can be utilized to "reduce the probability of material impact due to a cyber event" - the cyber first principle. In the concluding chapter, Rick succinctly summarizes his contribution to the field, stating, "And that's it. Those are all the tools you need to design, build, and enhance a cybersecurity program based on first principle thinking." This assertion highlights the value of his book as a practical guide for designing and improving cybersecurity programs with a focus on first principles.
