This album points the way to the future. It is prophetic because George Russell felt compelled to make it so. 'Jazz is changing, the sixties could well be a crucial decade,' says the composer. 'One thing is certain. A variety of sound and rhythms, many of which are alien to what audiences are used to, will find their way into jazz.' Unaccountably, things we hear around us every day, very humans things, have either disappeared or been left out of jazz as we know it. 'Progress is inevitable. Today's musical palette is just not adequate.' All feelings relative to life and beauty cannot be validly expressed with techniques now in vogue. What is more, jazz is an evolving art; it is not meant to be restricted. The very nature of the music and it's history indicate this. The jazz music of the future? What will it be like? Well, the techniques are going to get more complex, and it will be a challenge for the composer to master the techniques and yet preserve his intuitive approach. These shelves are gorgeous in person. Yes, they're darker than the listing pics, but I actually prefer it. The grain is beautiful, they came well-packed, and mounting them was no trouble at all. Now I've got display space that feels both stylish and practical. Definitely worth it!

Easy to install, very tough!

Seriously, scoring these shelf stands for $30 feels like an absolute steal! Four chunky wood boards with metal T-brackets that actually feel substantial - way sturdier than those flimsy IKEA ones I used to have. My old cheapo stands warped after half a year, but these hold up like a champ - I've got like 15 heavy textbooks stacked on them right now.
Love the little details too: rounded edges so you won't scrape your hands, and rubber grip strips on the bottom. They look legit fancy in my living room as bookshelves and even class up my kitchen herb garden. My friend thought they were some high-end designer furniture! Honestly, the craftsmanship at this price puts my old $60 wooden shelves to shame. Already told my DIY group chat about these - trust me, you can't go wrong!

Worst item ever

Set up shelves and not sturdy at all. Followed the instructions perfectly. Very poorly made. I don’t have the box and now I’m stuck with the item.
