Perfume Princess White Winter Daphne is a compact woody evergreen shrub with a dense upright, slightly spreading habit and glossed whorls of dark green foliage.  Its lilac-pink buds open to intense sweetly fragrant pale pink flowers that softly fade to white from mid winter to mid spring.  Needs afternoon shade and moist, sharply-drained soils.  Moderately salt tolerant. 

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  High Maintenance.  Needs sharply drained soils.  Allow the top inch of soil to dry between watering.  Mulch in winter and protect from winter winds- winter stressed plants are more susceptible to disease.  Cut back after flowering to prevent leggy growth.  Potential diseases include botrytis, leaf spots, canker, twig blight, crown rot, root rot and virus. Potential insect pests include aphids, mealybugs and scale.  Poisonous- handle with gloves and do not plant in area where brushing against is likely.
