Will my SiV embroidery machine automatically detect the MaggieFrame Magnetic Hoop size?
Like most third-party magnetic embroidery hoops, your SiV embroidery machine will not auto-recognize the 6″ × 8″ (150 × 200 mm) MaggieFrame magnetic hoop. You’ll need to manually select or input the hoop dimensions in your embroidery software and verify the design fits within the stitch area. This ensures precise alignment and avoids needle strikes during embroidery.
Can this magnetic embroidery frame reduce hoop burn on velvet, leather, or other delicate fabrics?
Yes. The MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery frame applies even magnetic pressure instead of squeezing fabric like a traditional clamp. This design minimizes hoop burn and fabric distortion, especially on materials such as velvet, leather, or satin. Should I place the stabilizer inside the frame or float it under the hoop when using MaggieFrame?
For most SiV embroidery setups, it’s best to sandwich the stabilizer with the fabric inside the MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery hoop. This provides stability and consistent tension. However, if embroidering bulky or hard-to-hoop garments, you can float the stabilizer beneath the bottom magnetic frame. Both options maintain strong grip and smooth stitching across different materials.
What can I do if the fabric slips slightly while embroidering with the MaggieFrame magnetic hoop?
If you notice minor fabric movement, check that your stabilizer matches the fabric thickness and design density. Ensure the hoop’s magnets are fully engaged and consider applying non-slip grip tape to enhance hold on slippery items.
