Its steel construction makes the tripod durable but, at 1.6 lb, doesn't add much weight.
The tripod features a simple twist-handle controlled pan and tilt head for basic vertical and horizontal movements. The head is equipped with a standard 1/4"-20 mounting thread for compatibility with most scopes, binoculars, and adapters.
