THE STORY BEHIND HERBAL SLEEP
Valerian root has been recommended traditionally for sleep, nervousness and other nervous system support. During World War II, it was used to help relieve stress caused by frequent air raids.
The incredibly, beautiful passion flower was grown by Aztecs, Incas and other native South American peoples. Named for its representation of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, passion flower was used by Native American tribes. It quickly spread to Europe after settlers arrived.
Probably most famous for its use in breweries around the world, hops commonly has been sought for anxiety, nervousness and restlessness in folk medicine. It has also been used traditionally to support sleep and relaxation, and to support gastric function.
