About Zine

“Through photography, the past that was nothing more than ‘the past’ has turned into an ongoing past,” says Japanese photographer Anju Miki.

This zine is her debut work, “TRAVEL.”
Handmade one by one with the drum leaf binding technique (fukuro-toji), this zine bears the title “Travel”—yet it never reveals where she actually went.

The drum leaf binding creates a unique way of opening each page, and the texture of the kraft paper gives it a distinctive tactile quality, making this work truly one of a kind.

Good Book, not Parshall though
Format: Kindle
The author uses more Japanese terms than any similar book that I've read but uses western naming conventions for Japanese people. I don't quite know what to think. Good diagrams.

Japanese mindset Coral Sea
Format: Kindle
This book gave me fresh insights to the Battle of the Coral Sea. I feel like I have an idea as to what was going through the Japanese minds. Well written. He make it easy to follow each step of the battle.

Interesting front to back
Format: Hardcover
Really good book. A lot from the Japanese perspective. Plenty of facts but not so much as to be boring. Amazing how much was hit or miss back then. Or just plain luck.
