Uit rntgenfotos blijkt dat Cornelias gezicht over een ander gezicht heen geschilderd is, net als bij het portret van haar man. Het is daarom ook niet helemaal zeker of Frans Hals de gezichten wel geschilderd heeft. Het wapenschild is waarschijnlijk n 1762 bijgeschilderd. Op een tekening naar dit portret uit
