The tiny komenuka rōsoku candles come in a set of 10 earthy colors. The charming illustration of a cat chasing a mouse on the box has a traditional story behind it: because Japanese candles use natural wax that attracts mice, it’s said that candle makers have always kept a cat in the workshop to protect their precious wax.

Each small candle burns for about 15 minutes, making them ideal for a short meditation session, a quiet moment of relaxation, or a refreshing break during busy desk work. Made from 100% natural and sustainable materials, these candles are handcrafted in Shiga Prefecture by Daiyo, a family-run maker with over a century of history.

Japanese candles are fully handmade, produce very little smoke, and burn with a larger, brighter flame than modern paraffin candles.
