This is the Apex Race Parts EC-7R Forged Wheel. This wheel features a beautiful design and is the result of a premium forging process to provide the user with a very strong wheel that can withstand arduous conditions of motorsport while providing the aesthetic appeal for street use.

10K TONS OF PRESSURE:

• The EC-7R started life as a cylinder of extruded aluminum that is forged by a die under 10,000 tons of pressure. The intended purpose is to increase the strength of the material by eliminating porosity while improving the gain structure within the aluminum. 

DESIGNED AND DEVELOPED UNDER APEX'S OWN WHEEL DIES:

• While many aftermarket wheel companies utilize sourced die blanks, Apex develops and uses their own wheel dies to stamp blanks that meet their exact specifications. This will allow for wheel designs in key sizes needed for motorsport use. 

STRONGER:

• The forging process in the Apex EC-7R has an end-result of a  higher load rating. While conventional wheels have a JWL/VIA minimum load rating of 1190 lbs, the EC-7R will have a load rating of 1600lbs. 

BIG BRAKE FRIENDLY:

• The EC-7R improves on the original EC-7 design with high-clearance forged blanks. The forging process allows the reduction of spoke thickness without compromising strength. The result allows for more brake clearance than most wheel designs in Apex's wheel lineup, and comfortably fits over large factory and aftermarket big brake kits including popular Performance Package brakes, and TRD Brembos. 

WEIGHT OPTIMIZED:

• Apex has conducted extensive Finite Element Analysis to reinforce high-stress areas and to remove material where it did not improve strength. The end result is a fully forged wheel with an ideal balance of strength and weight.

"I" BEAM SPOKES:

• Significant material was removed from the side of each spoke on the EC-7R to give it "I" beam-like strength. While many wheels have webbing between spokes that create the illusion of side milling, material was taken off the side for the purpose of saving weight. 

PAINTLESS KNURLED BEADS:

• To reduce unwanted tire spin the knurling was protected from paint to keep them sharp and makes for a better surface contact area which counts under high-stress conditions. 

TRUE VIA, JWL AND BEYOND RATED:

• Apex wheels get officially tested and registered by the VIA in Japan and exceed JWL load rating requirements by almost 35%.
